Gantt Chart View
Visualize your plan timeline with the Gantt chart. See task spans, dependencies, and critical path.
What is the Gantt Chart?
- timeline view: Tasks render as horizontal bars across calendar days
- dependencies: Arrows show predecessor → successor links
- critical path: Optional highlight for zero‑slack tasks
- live sync: Mirrors the Plan grid; changes appear immediately
Open and close
- Click "Gantt" in the toolbar (Plan | Gantt | Calendar)
- Gantt appears alongside the Plan grid
- Click "Gantt" again to hide
How bars and lines render
- dates: Bars use task start/finish dates; durations determine length (per‑day granularity)
- milestones: Render as diamonds on their date
- groups/parents: Render as thin bars spanning their children
- progress: A subtle overlay indicates % complete
- dependencies: Lines route from predecessor to successor with arrowheads; today shows as a red vertical line
Critical Path
- toggle: Use the Critical Path option to highlight critical tasks in red
- chain: When enabled, critical links are emphasized in red
- slack: Optional dashed extension can show slack days on non‑critical tasks
Navigation
- zoom: Adjust zoom; use Fit to Screen to show the full range
- scroll: Scroll horizontally and vertically to navigate timeline and tasks
Tips & troubleshooting
- If nothing shows, ensure tasks have valid dates
- To see the entire plan, use Fit to Screen in the Gantt toolbar
- Critical path requires dependency chains; link tasks first
