Search

Find tasks instantly in Plan Builder using the toolbar search. Matches across task name, owner, status, notes, and ID.

  • instant filter: Results update as you type; only matching rows remain visible
  • fields: Matches Task name, Owner, Status, Notes, and the immutable ID
  • multi-word: Every word must be present (order doesn’t matter)
  1. Click the search box in the Plan Builder toolbar
  2. Type to filter rows immediately

Location: left side of the toolbar, beside Add task

  • partial matches: "req" matches "Requirements"; "api" matches "API Design"
  • multiple words: "design phase" filters to rows containing both words anywhere in searchable fields
  • case-insensitive: "DESIGN" matches "Design"

How it works

  • We normalize your query to lowercase and split on spaces into tokens
  • A row matches when all tokens are found in its searchable text
  • Searched text is built from: task name, owner, status, notes, and ID
  • Delete the text in the search box

Advanced

  • owners: Type a person’s name to see their tasks
  • status: Type a status (e.g., "In Progress", "Completed") to filter by status
  • notes: Text inside notes is searchable
  • IDs: Paste an ID to jump to a specific task

Tips

  • be specific: "API Design" is better than "design"
  • combine words: Add more tokens to narrow results quickly
  • use with views: Search filters the Plan grid; it does not filter Gantt or Calendar

FAQs

Which fields are searchable?

Task name, Owner, Status, Notes, and ID.

Does case matter?

No. Search is case-insensitive.

Do all words have to match?

Yes. We split your input into words; all must be present somewhere in the row’s searchable text.

Does search filter collapsed children?

Search runs after collapse. Hidden children of collapsed parents stay hidden.

Does search affect Gantt or Calendar?

No. It filters the Plan grid only.
